The De Stefani family, producer of Premium and Ultra Premium wines in Veneto Italy since four generations, has added a new Grand Cru to its collection of exclusive wines. It is the “Rive di Refrontolo Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut Nature”. This exceptional Prosecco substitutes the former Prosecco Nature and is produced on the hillside vineyards of Refrontolo, a small village located in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene DOCG area, 40 km north of Venice. The term “Rive" denotes the steep slopes of a hillside, which are considered the best places for growing the Glera grapes. By disciplinary in the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG area the yield of grapes per hectare is lower than in the Prosecco DOC area. However in the wines with the appellation Rive, the yield is even lower than in the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore. The first release of the De Stefani Rive di Refrontolo Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut Nature will be the vintage 2018, from entirely hand picked grapes and the vintage is declared on the label since it is Millesimato. Brut Nature indicates that the residual sugar is almost zero. This will allow the wine to show its exuberant freshness and its mineral character. At the nose it shows class with floral notes and a persistent apple aroma. In the mouth it impresses for the elegance and purity and the aftertaste is rich of fruity hints, especially pear. It matches perfectly oysters, wild salmon dishes and grilled octopus.

“I am very proud to produce this new Grand Cru from our estate in Refrontolo, the original estate of our family, the place where our winery began in the second half of 1800” asserts the producer and winemaker Alessandro De Stefani
