The scientific magazine Nature, one of the most prestigous and ancient in the world, reports that red wine can be a cure for the virus. The study published by the researchers Guagdi Li and Erik De Clerq shows they have tested both in vitro and on alimals different molecules against primary beta coronavirus. Among these molecules, resveratrol has proven capable of blocking the viral replication of Mers, the respiratory syndrome related to Covid-19.

After these interesting premises, the director of the Pharmacy deparment at the Univeristy Federico II in Naples, Ettore Novellino, begun the sperimentation and patented a mixture of polyphenols, including resveratrol. The director of the pneunomology department, Alessandro Sanduzzi Zampanelli, has used it in the form of a nebulizer in patients with bacilliphere tuberclosis to test its anti-inflammatory effect. After just a single somministration, the professor confirms that in two patients out of three the level of Interleeukin 6 was halved on collection. This is a very promising finding to control the inflammatory phase of Sars-Cov-2 and the green light from the Italian Medicines Agency is awaited for experimentation.

We therefore trust the red grape, which already back in 2014 another scientific magazine, eLife, praised its characteristics of anti-aging and anti-inflammatory.

 “The red wines with the highest content of polyphenols and resveratrol, beneficial substances as seen above, are those that have been in contact with the skins the most through long maceration, therefore the wines earmarked for aging in barrique”, affirms the oenologist Alessandro De Stefani.

All De Stefani red wines are obtained through long macerations and consequently all possess high levels of polyphenols and anti-oxidant substances, beneficial to health not only for the aspects mentioned above, but also against heart attack and heart failure.
